Growing
up in the Western District of Victoria. She is a
country girl at heart! Sophie’s love of
collectables, art, design and culture was
nurtured by her parents from a young age.
As a family they would travel abroad, hunting
local markets, hitting the backstreets for
fabulous finds, her mother and Grandmother were
avid collectors of antiques and they have
certainly had a huge influence on Sophie.
Having completed her education at boarding
school in Geelong, she then graduated from
University in Melbourne.
Her passion for travel, adventure and all
things exotic led her to 40 countries by the
time she was 30.
Lifestyle choices found her living abroad for
years she spent over a year nestled in the heart
of Rome, learning the language, travelling,
collecting local art and ancient pieces. She
then moved to Buenos Aires to live, where she
established herself and started working on large
scale renovations and interior styling projects.
This was a brilliant learning experience,
dealing with life in BA was a thrill and an eye
opener, never knowing what you were going to get
from day to day on the streets, this simply
added to the excitement. She adores Argentina
and the people, their magnificent architecture
and way of life.
Sophie never sits still, she is always on the
look out for interior projects that she can sink
her teeth into, and tweak with her individual
style. She is also a collector of vintage
fashion, she has collection filled with
Valentino dresse, vintage Hermes bags and art
deco jewellery.
The call to come back to Australia and settle
was made recently and since then she has loved
renovating her new home in Melbourne’s, Albert
Park. Filling it with art from around the world
and quirky pieces, each has a story of how she
got it back into Australia!
Her flare for design and interiors has kept
her busy and certainly the future looks filled
with fabulous finds and all things salvage.
